Jorge is one of the 4SEE founders. He was born in Angola and maybe that’s why Africa is one of his favourite subjects. In 2000 he was the recipient of International Humanitarian Prize “Luis Valtuena” granted by spanish NGO “Medicos del Mundo” with a picture of under-nourished children in Angola. Among his african stories one can find features about Mozambican floods, Saharaui refugees, diamonds in Angola and civil war in Guinea-Bissau. He took part of various workshops with photographers like David Alan Harvey, Steve McCurry and Greg Gorman where he practised and developed his skills in portrait and fashion photography. Jorge is a staff photographer in weekly “Expresso” since 1990, and his work was also published in many other newspapers and magazines, including “Time” and “El Mundo”. |
